Theresa Loken

Biographical Summary
Theresa Loken is an associate attorney at Kuykendall & Associates. She graduated cum laude from New York Law School after receiving a
Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of
Southern California. During law school, she successfully participated in the
Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and worked
as a legal intern in the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal
Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. After law school, Theresa
obtained an Advanced Master’s degree in Public International Law from
the University of Leiden in The Netherlands, where she served as an
assistant editor for the Leiden Journal of International Law. She
also represented the University in the Jean-Pictet International
Humanitarian Law Competition.
Prior to joining Kuykendall & Associates, Theresa was an associate at
Yerman & Associates, LLC, an immigration law firm specializing in
asylum applications and deportation/removal defense. She successfully
represented many asylum applicants before the immigration courts in
several different states and was the senior associate for the firm’s
appellate practice. Theresa argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the Second Circuit and wrote the briefs for successful federal
appeals in the First, Second, Third, Sixth and Eleventh Circuits.
Theresa also serves as an attorney for the Mexican Capital Legal
Assistance Program, is admitted to practice law in New York and taking the Arizona bar in July 2011.
